A Siren's Lament

A Siren's Lament

A Poem by Ethan Richards
"

A prelude to my original instrumental of the same name.

"
I've been known to wreck ships; both the friend and relation variety.
My sirens call echoes to you quietly.
You were my favorite conquest I must admit.
You were the soul I wanted when the lanterns are lit.

I've been known to steal souls; dragging them down to depths they can't handle.
My sirens way of living makes me quite the vandal.
I was one moment away from my last retreat.
I was one love away from leaving the sea.

I've been known to love too hard; or maybe it's just a rouse.
My siren's song is but a tool to use.
You were the message in the bottle I sent.
You are the purpose for this siren's lament.

It's as haunting a wail as any you've ever heard.
To hear the siren's silence as he cannot find the words.
