The Magic Shows Over

The Magic Shows Over

A Poem by Chaos Complex
"

Sometimes, it's just not love... but it sure is a pretty illusion...

"

We had a little chemical romance.

Your gorgeous eyes attracted me-

Like you were magnetic.

Pulled me in, in...

And I thought I wouldn't mind it.

Now I see-

I fell in love with a persona,

And not the whole package.

The magic show is over.

And I know all your petty tricks.

I love to play the fool,

To think that I love you-

Only to realize you ain't who I thought you were.

You ain't who I thought you were!

I must love illusions, hey...

But hate reality.

Now that I see who you are,

I'm starting to regret giving.

And I can't take it back, no.

I can only move on, with knowledge that I hate.

Hate, hate, hate! Oh yeah!

The magic show is over.

And I know all your petty tricks.

I love to play the fool,

To think that I love you-

Only to realize you ain't who I thought you were.

You ain't who I thought you were!

Started out so sweet,

Why'd it end up bitter?

When you reveal,

What's under those covers.

Beneath the skin I admire,

Is a painful awakening,

From such a beautiful dream.

The magic show is over.

And I know all your petty tricks.

I love to play the fool,

To think that I love you-

Only to realize you ain't who I thought you were.

You ain't who I thought you were!

Gotta be careful, who you think you fall in love with!

About
I like to express my emotions and feelings in poetry. I write a lot of rap/hip hop stuff. I'm really vulgar. Deal with it. I don't get many reviews, but thank you to those who even bother to re.. more..
