A Discourse- Death, Existence and Forever Life

A Discourse- Death, Existence and Forever Life

A Poem by Nothing Personal
"

My take on Death and Living

"
Plan

So what if
I don't want to die?
Existence as we know of
Is utter, complete, so satisfied.
I have a solution
Bring your ears close by
Let me whisper.

Discourse - I

I love to live
I never want to die
People who believe in god
Can live their lives
On promised Heavens for which they strive
Or Hell if they utterly fail but still survive
I don't believe in God
I have no rationale
To believe in the Lord
And to top it all,
Science infected my brain
To make me think
Death, the complete darkness
Death, the supreme consciousness
Before the utter end
Death, the Non-existence.

Lines to read when I'm not there - I

"I write this poem
For you to read
To remember a soul
Which wanted to live
Always and forever
Enjoy the spring and breathe the air
Write, Eat and Make love
Learn, Drink and Inspire"

Discourse - II

The ruthless told me
There's nothing to live
For Death brings meaning
To the Life we live.
Without Death, Time will stop
There won't be anything and that will be all
I tell them with utmost grace
I still want to live at a snail's pace.

Lines to read when I'm not there - II

"Even if I'm not there
Even if I'm just a few lines
Some old memories
And a photo in a dilapidated frame
These lines will remain
And I will live through these lines
Read them to your sons and friends
And tell them - The Man who didn't want to die"

Execution

I know I am ninety
I am really ill
My time has come
I will be free
I have a plan
I conceived when I was a child
Please execute it
Before I die.

Find a patient
A life which still lives
But the brain has died.
Operate and take my brain
In its entirety and fill his crane.
As he will open his eyes
I will live again and I won't die.

He will think like me
He has all my memories
He will find a changed body
But a life so full
And the best part is
I will give his lifeless body
A whole new life
But it will be not be him
Who lives with my brain
It is me who will take the reign.
(Laughs silently with a forever expression)

Actually I think the title fits very well! What a profound write on the essence of life and death. A common saying on headstones in New England was (back 100-200 years ago) As you are now, so once was I; as I am now, one day you'll be. Morbid yes...but truth...we are all worms food. Great write!

. ha ha ha ha ! ... long live the brain that popped this poem ... :D ... sheer awesomeness ... are your words ... and your thoughts ... but yes ... we probably need a different title ... this reminds me of dilip simeon's poem ... about the jargon used by people ... (he's a historian and gets to evaluate a lot of papers of doctorate students) ... and i remember the first stanza ... which is repeated throughout and is also the last stanza of the poem ...

this is my rifle and that is my gun
this is for shooting and that is for fun
this is my discourse and that is my text
discourse for this life and text for the next

. but anyway ... if this happens ... and that guy who has your brain also writes poems ... then i hope i can also achieve the same ... so that the "new" me gets to read and review your poems ... and might i add ... this is like the skeleton script of a film that might be rather fascinating ... the first half would star you and the second half would star the "new" you ... i mean the plot just has incredible cinematic potential ... and that's a film that i really wanna see ... my advice to you : make it happen ... there are only ... (at the most) ... six degrees of separation between you and that spectacular film ... can't wait ... to see it ... :) ...

You had me all the way till the execution...
I loved the philosophy and the lines to read when I'm not there, but not sure about the final solution.

this was very intriguing work, sure is considerably thought-provoking too. i sure haven't read much work like this, if at all, so that's very unique of you here. now don't we all want to live a happy and long life? although living forever, now that's another thing.
good work here!

When I was young. I said 39 year would be enough. Now at 52 years old. Life is more precious. With Grand kids and kids needing support. Life must go on. You poem open up many questions. Life and death leave us confused. I saw only one good death in my lifetime. He lived 94 years and knew death was coming. Surrounded by family he left happily knowing he was loved and his family was strong because of his good heart. A outstanding poem. You made me think.

Wow. That was a really different format compared to any other poem I've ever seen. And the whole thing seemed really intense to me. My favorite lines: "Even if I'm not there/ Even if I'm just a few lines/ Some old memories/ And a photo in a dilapidated frame/ These lines will remain" That was really discriptive...I could totally see it. (:
Great job. (:
