Admiring from afar

Admiring from afar

A Poem by NANA

Could you stop being perfect for just one second?
I don't compare
I don't dare
You're all that I want
Everything I want to be
All my aspirations summed up when you smile at me
And I don't compare
I don't dare
I want to show you the real me,
But is that what I've been doing?
I don't compare
I don't dare
I've been trying so hard not to scare you away from me,
Even though I know your life is five steps ahead of me,
And I don't compare
I don't dare
Is this admiration or love?
Could it be just a crush?
Is it just the rush I feel?
I flush when I stand next to you
You make me want to be the best that I can
And to get there
If I dare...
I want to make you see me
I want, I wish, if only
But I don't compare
I don't dare
