What Matters

What Matters

A Poem by Meagan Byington
"

The logic of a young adolescent hard hearted child.

"

Through out life I’ve loved plenty of things. Family, friends, religion, pets, possessions, significant others, celebrities, bands, and other strange things I’ve came across. But every little thing I have ever cherished has left me in some sort of way. people always say love is eternal. I beg to differ. Relationships do not last, friends become enemies, family is an unspoken word that brings memories. Things die or loose interest. If we all know love fades and things are washed away then why even care in the first place. Growing attachments to things just makes it harder when they hurt you or escape your grasp.

If anything occurs and you start to have feelings for something you must separate yourself from such certain thing till the feelings are gone and punish yourself for your weakness.
