Solitary Cypress

Solitary Cypress

A Chapter by Nusquam Esse

   my cadenced answer?

Of how shared silence

wracks a roiled heart,

   as stale cinnamon lingers

      the solitary cypress,

if hearts never echo

   their final lament?
