A Chapter by Octob3r Star

Property

It began as our eyes met across the table.
I was shocked, you were that beautiful.
So nervous, my legs unstable.
Drinkin' my vulnerability away, as I sat there crystallized.

Blinking uncontrollably,
tasting the lettuce through the vinegar.
Oddly enough- I could manage, not to excuse myself.
Conservative enough to not pull your trigger.

Walking home that night;
talking, grinning, boasting our opinions on realism,
Just met you and I think your alright.
A dream, uncanny, so full of laughter.

Weeks, months, they travels fast.
Especially, when your not watching where your going.
How some things were blinded by the past;
important signs, changes, differences; were showing.

Having nervousness, baring questions…
"He won’t answer these question."
"Will he ever answer these questions?"
Placed in sections,
assuming he’s that ignorant.

Just different times, later hours.
Little phone calls, he knows-
that you know, that he’s not that beautiful.
Praying that you won’t appose.
His trick-or treats with the local, realists.
You were, but won’t be much,
once it’s gone.

He’ll make that rain flow over that mountain, once again.
Force blood from it’s empty sky.
His temple, his property.
He’ll always lie to you,
and you’ll always question why.

The road out, is to your left;
depending on where your standing.
Make way for a separation,
or prepare yourself for a hard branding.

The hurt in you that doesn't show,
it's heartache or the pain.
What seemed so sure it’s, even flow;
just a player in his game.

Letting go is sometimes the best thing we can do.

Agree with the letting go idea. Everything can decieve, especially in the face of love. Nice poem!
