You & I

We make so many decisions and think that things will never change but we often forget change is inevitable.

The horizon lights up the distant sky, 

a peaceful flashback of you and I, 

We made those memories hand in hand, 

united as one, together we’d stand. 

So many promises we couldn’t keep, 

the signs of failure were ocean deep, 

fingers crossed, 

we forgave each other, 

and promised to God to never love another. 

Its funny how that same sky, 

changed as fast as you and I..

It is difficult nowadays to stay in a relationship without forgiving mistakes or accepting differences. But when they make room in our mind then it leaves us no choice but to drift apart. But scars will still be there and sometimes in distant future we will wish this would have never happened.

I love the simple rhyme scheme. It's so lovely and strewns together a simple rhythm. Simple rhyme schemes are good for rather romantic pieces and I appreciate the thoughtfulness in choosing. Very good!
