Turned Pages

To you

I am an open book

bound at the spine

you know every inch of me

at any given time

i let you turn my pages

one by one

not to miss a thing 

something id never done before

I quickly realized my mistake

as you took everything you read

and threw it in my face

such a waste

it's such a good read

but you could never see the quality it seeps

in your mind you've read this book a million times

you think you know the ending

but the book is still being written

twist and turns that lead to dead ends

just to turn around and face another mission

trials and tribulations bookmarked

always surprising the reader 

and taking the advantage

yet somehow you tossed the book aside

with an okay shrug of your shoulders 

you lie

as you try to use my own words against me 

again

changing the meaning and making it seem like a totally different story

but when one does not understand the depth of a book they make it seem as if the book is 

less than... 

I let you turn my pages

anytime you wanted

yet, you still skipped all the good parts.

People really suck sometimes :/ They really just can't help themselves but really that's no excuse. Very strong and well penned piece; strong diction, good flow and meter and if I were to offer any advise I would simply say to break the piece up into a few smaller stanzas only because the lack of punctuation causes the reader to speed up as the sentences grow longer, and the middle part being so powerful and a really anchoring feature of this piece, may get over shadowed by the reverberating end. Still a solid and very poignant piece of poetry; well done! :D
