sink or swim

sink or swim

A Poem by Rose Downing
"

A comment on society. Most of us can't see what we're doing, or how brainwashed we've become. I'm not much better at it then anyone else, just wanted to comment on it.

"

A surreal vessel drifting derelict in a sea of misunderstanding.
Hold my breath and go with the flow as long as I can.
The sharks of social order approach.
Teat of stats quo.
I can only tread for so long before I seethingly sink.
Perhaps elapsing into always being a fish out of water?
"Be who you are, and do what you do."
Says the water.
Water can not see it's own reflection.
Water does not know it's a shark.
The fish is wet with itself.

Author's Note

Rose Downing
Some of this poem is hard to understand. Like "The fish is wet with itself" and so on. I'd explain it, but then I'd be assuming you really give a shit.
