About Annie

A Poem by Rose Downing
"

a love poem for a girl I dated long ago.

"

A crazy angel with a perfect click danced into me.
dancing like moon on the water, flowing like a soul of my own
I'm caught in her sights and I'm flattered.
So moved that I stutter in stride.
When my eyes meet her body I want to undo
her straight-jacket with my teeth, because
I believe if i could get to that level with you I could
free those wings of yours.

Passionate and abstract. Like it. It's got an odd beat to it that I enjoy. I particularly liked the line 'I stutter in stride' - very nice. The ending is an interesting image as well, 'free those wings of yours'.
