Tease

Tease

A Poem by Olivia
"

This a wacky one Based on a true story! (no princess though). Hope you enjoy.

"
One upon a time a princess sat in a tower
Her golden hair swayed in the air
Her blue eyes blinked and long lashes fluttered
Her beauty defined by her unattainability,
For no one could have her.

Every time she saw a boy down below
Who was pretty in the sun kissed gorgeous kind of way,
She sung out to him.
Her smile a hook sharply buried in his heart
Deeply she cuts in.

There are plenty of fish in the sea,
Plenty she has caught.
What a pretty princess,
Passionate heartbreaker,
Golden Girl.

And once he is wrapped in her simple crochet net,
Once he is close and smitten
Once he can't think or sleep or breathe or cry for love
She drops him from the tower,
Her breathing heavy for she can no longer stand to look in his eyes.

One day one of the boys looks up and sees his heart,
His heart dangling from her hook.
He is a gutted fish,
But in his rage at her he will fill the hole.
He enrages the townspeople below her tower.

Their pretty princess
They call her a b***h,
A tease.
To take the boy's time and love, when she herself is
Incapable of returning.

She is easily overwhelmed by the boys
Lifted up the stone tower,
Their golden beauty brings cold to her sun-warmed tower
When she feels owing
To all that they are expecting.

So the poor princess never found true love
Those she was supposed to love scared her
Their names listed on her wall,
She walks among them mourning
As though she walks among graves.
