Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Olumegbon
"

heartbreak from a woman's point of view

"
Goodbye,
Who knew words did carry thorns,
The couch caressing my butt,
My cardigan cuddling my soul,
The breeze whispering in my ears,
Bringing the tears hanging on to my eyes,
I cry in pain,
The hurt is from within,
Where did I go wrong,
Tired of battling with this sad song,
Thought my heartbeat was what you saw,
That made you promise me the world,
Our late night conversations,
Filled with promises for the future,
Never thought they will wither away,
I lowered my dignity to serve you my virginity,
Now I question your integrity,
The lesson becomes a huge slap from reality,
Nevertheless my flesh wants you back,
Still fragile to your deceptive words,
My bed now frightens me,
The torture of memories it feeds my mind,
Constantly hunting my emotions,
I thirst for the day we cross path again,
So i can ask why you said goodbye.

I am in love with this. The insane emotion that flows through your aching words captivates me, makes me cling to your every sentence. The flow, though it does not rhyme, is perfect and I am glad you chose for it to not because this way it conveys your raw emotions that much more. I hope that one day I can write as well as this! So beautiful.

Brutal f*****g honesty but with some humorous descriptives. The whole thing smack of utter loneliness and that is something I am very much intimate with. I hope s**t is better. Res Ipsa Loquitur.....

Honestly....the third line made me giggle - I always found the word "butt" quite funny.
As for the rest of the poem - I like the flow, the wording and the feeling it shows!
Great Job!

First off I'd like to say thank you for this piece of art because it was beautifully written, and what I really liked about it was the yin and yang between tactfulness and bluntness. Great execution and a beautiful way with relation to the reader.

This poem just killed me... this was absolutely amazing and this hits you straight on with the saddest of emotions. This can also be the guy's side of things, btw, and you've made this absolutely relatable! Awesome!
