Can Never Return

by omegax45

In the misty world of my dreams,

I enter a town

A town I had known so well

And yet forgot where it was

The town is so bright

Full of laughter and smiles

A store at each corner

Ran by a happy family

The air smelled of fresh baked bread

From a nearby bakery

The air filled with sounds of happy laughter

From children leaving school for the day

I find myself walking,

Smiling, reminiscing

Before I found myself by a playground

And the memories, oh sweet memories

But I soon wake

Back in the dark, cold reality

I can still smell the fresh bread

And hear the sweet laughter

But it soon fades

And I can never return
