Don't rob my kisses

Don't rob my kisses

A Poem by Omikron
"

Another poem, simple one.

"
Don't rob me another kiss
And don't smudge my soul with your atrocities
I ban your voice from my kingdom
You will no longer be my plague
And you will no longer walk in my corridors
I will pulverize the gates to heaven
And I will set the devil himself on fire
So that you must dwell in a coil of misery
Where you can't rob my kisses no more

I always found it much easier to give my kisses to him. That way I got a lot more in return. Valentine

The entire abstract imagery of the poem is wonderful.

Thank you!

// O
This is another great piece!

This has great imagery and great tone. I don't know why I get the image of a soulful black woman as speaker. It might be due to the grammar in the first and final lines.

The use of coil is a brilliant allusion to the serpent.

The movement of the poem from heaven downwards to hell is fantastic.

I felt like the turn came after 'and you will no longer walk in my corridors.'

The only suggestion I have deals with stanzas. Perhaps a new stanza before the turn would help. The first four lines are abstract concepts of smudging the soul, banning the voice, and no longer being a plague, while the the next four lines are very active with walk, pulverize, set on fire, and dwell in misery. This change in voice might warrant a new stanza to reset the reader.

Thanks for another wonderful poem!
