Day 12

Day 12

A Chapter by Omikron

12th of December, 2016

They claim more victims than the flu.
Every year it's the same déjà vu.
They linger quietly around the bend,
Until the year reaches an end,
Then they stretch to grab a hold of you.

You don't have a clue,
That there's a demon in your shoe.
You just follow the trend,
Can't see the darkness descend,
Because the Christmas lights are blinding you.

They hide in your fondue.
The demons are hungry too.
In the stores, they blend,
In every Christmas card you send,
Oh, If you only knew.

Santa's demons rule the avenue,
Looking for more souls to chew.
All your money you spend,
On things that make you pretend,
That the demons aren't behind you.

Wow. Very interesting piece. Interesting perspective perhaps about consumerism. Great choice of vocabulary!

Very interesting piece. You definitely took a different path with the Christmas theme. You gave a more sinister perspective. I enjoyed it. Great job!
