One Glance

One Glance

A Poem by Omikron

There is no human touch,
No sensation as soft,
No satisfaction as pure,
As the very moment,
The fraction of a second,
When eyes as deep as an ocean,
That could make a starry night seem dull,
Steal a glance and then waste it on me,
And undress me in the most inner,
Sincere, and most intimate way,
That should not be humanly possible.
With a single glance,
Possibilities become just as paltry
As tiny, dissolving raindrops.
For, even gravity itself falls,
And the universe stops breathing,
When your eyes touch mine.
With a single glance
I am thrown into a beautiful state
Of pure and blind,
Raw and peaceful,

Amnesia.

Absolutely beautiful! Amazing wording, hard to describe what I liked about it in words. I didn't like it---I LOVED it :) Keep up the fantastic creativity and excellent phrasing.

The sashay of rhyme and sound scheme... Along with the heartfelt words and imagery... I was stunned to read this one... Then stunned again upon re-reading... The gravity falls as air thins, as my eyes touched these lines... Stunningly penned...

This is amazing, O :-)
I loved the depth of this write and analogies that you have given here. A kind of spiritual and pure love that takes a being into its eternal bliss. Sometimes one glance is enough to lead several decades of life.
A lovely poem :-)

Take care of your health. Cheer up!

You had me remembering the deep blue of my husbands eyes with this one. Eyes do speak. Valentine

I had such a moment years ago at a dairy queen when I looked into eye so green I almost drown in the depth of them. So pure and flawless were they that I felt baptized as I was immersed in their gaze. To this day I remember those eye but nothing else of the young lady on the other side of the counter. The emotional and philosophical depth flows naturally hand in hand masterfully in this poem so well done my friend. Standing Ovation! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!
