The Human

The Human

A Poem by Omikron

The fields were cut in two, for that was the will of the human
There were no words that could plead for mercy
The earth was cut in two, for its purity would not fit the need of the human
Pain was silenced by asphalt concrete poured ever so gracefully on the wound
From the blood that was taken, new blood was made for the human
Bituminous, hollow veins stretched over the landscape, no heartbeat to serve its purpose
The grass and the sky that coloured the land and was created for the human
Is now but a desert of dried wheat and sorrow, every oasis dried out before dawn struck
Every drop of life, every berry and fruit, every trace of the paradise that gave birth to the human
Has been consumed and forgotten by the human

Humans consume and transform all around them... Hollow, and stretched thin with no purpose... What is our species but the collective will of a sentient virus...

Excellent piece! I viewed it as humans taking nature for granted. Keep up the great work!
