Ms. Intellect and Miss Passion

Ms. Intellect and Miss Passion

A Poem by Kristen R. Heyl
"

The angel and the devil are at it again.

"

Each time he contacts her

the walls begin to crumble

and the tears to fall.

The tears are the cues

for Ms. Intellect to perch

on her right shoulder and

Miss Passion to perch on

her left shoulder.

In her left ear is whispered

"Remember the hot, steamy, and passionate

moments you shared together last time"

making her body tingle as that memory

floats into her mind uninvited.

From the right she feels a pinch

and then hears "Along with those moments

you also suffered many bouts when you thought

your heart was broke and your cheeks would

stay forever tearstained.  Remember how exhausted you

were after all the crying was done

so that in the end your decision

was made to cut him out of your life.

Remember you deserve better"

whispered in her ear decisively.

"Remember the soft caressing touches, the passionate kisses

rained all over your body, the gentle nips which drove you crazy,

and the strong arms that held you when all was satisfied.

Do you really want that to disappear from your life?"

whispers Miss Passion seductively.

"All the times you called him when you were upset

but never got a call back, all the tears you shed while the

whole time you are blaming yourself,

and all the times you gave while he just took emotionally.

Do you want to live your life with constant pain in your heart

and always second guessing your decision?" whispers Ms. Intellect persuasively.

Round and round the argument goes

each side makes a good point but

the decision is her and hers alone to make.

It's not an easy decision to make

yet one that has to be made now

if she is to heal and move on.

Passion may have to wait for a bit

for it is satisfied more easily

while emotions are harder

to control and rein in.
