All That’s Left Behind

Laud these muddy footprints on the doorstep

The way I hoped the steps would once align

A story never told and never asked for

Vicarious and proudly all-engulfing

Slipping in and out of silent minds.

Those echoes of carefree cries and sunny laughter

Now whistle through the cracks in mouldy windows

They twine their binding nylon round your beating chest

So turn the pillow over to the colder side.

Delve, delve, delve ever deeper

And here in the thundering underground

Silence amplifies the violent whines.

When the lights dim or flicker you remind me

These patterns are hard and unmoving

But still they dance before my dreaming eyes.

Wonderful use of words and thoughts. I had to read again. I liked how you used the language.

I liked the above lines. They danced into perfect ending. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Your writing always carries a high level of intrigue that makes you read between the lines. This has an abstract feel that has multiple meanings. I like the challenge of your work. Great job.
