RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Running toward yesterday....

"

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!

Emptied of everything that was mine,
Rendered alone by my life's design.
Feeling afraid that this life will end,
Having not seen what's around the bend.

~~~
Where went the days that were planned to be,
Open and free for the world to see?
Where lie the tears of the muted mime?
Smothered by words and their lies that bind!
~~~

Run for your life before day is done!
Sorrow can't wait for the rising sun.
Lift the torn veil hanging by its thread...
Knowing that yesterday's left to dread.

~~~
Another beauty in my humble opinion. Great, smooth flowing, easy to read, easy to follow. These are my fave lines:
Where lie the tears of the muted mime?
Smothered by words and their lies that bind!
I love rhyming poems, especially ones that are so structurally perfect, but still keep the emotional impact and don't seem forced. Kudos!
Before I signed into to writers cafe tonight. I Rehearsed thoughts that seem to title themselves : "Run for your life" I was going to let the pen flow as I meditated on it. I had already decided that was going to be my title. instead of rushing to write it first. i needed to respond to some reviews as I am far behind being gone so long. You are one of those reviewer's I am behind on. When I saw this poem I was not surprised but in Awe. As I read it I cried and had to walk away for a few minutes. Talk about hitting every nerve :-) . I was immersed in the feel of this write for you seem to have written the exact feelings I wanted to write about. It is awesome when you find someone in the exact place you are when the place is an unknown place and not from this reality, but in Spirit...
You seem to speak of the kind of running I am feeling. The kind Where your mind understands that the reality we are experiencing isn't the true reality of our Spirit. It's the realization that everything we thought we have isn't ours to keep and we there is much damage if we try to hang onto anything here. Instead we need to Run In Spirit. There is a massive anxiety level so strong to run towards the Spirit Reality from our Physical self. that the need to Run just permeates and overcomes. I feel the last verse also. I can only describe as hands bleeding on that heavenly door, begging to be opened and allow us in right now. This very second. I feel the Soul Almost jumping of our our body yet imprisoned here but knowing it is yet a little longer and so.. the Anxiety creates the will to Run.
It's a race to grab your dreams, a race to re live your memories, it's a race to hang on to the past....But ultimately we fall down breathless and defeated.
Beautiful thoughts and a lovely flow and rhyme to this poem.
