STILL THE NIGHT

STILL THE NIGHT

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Keeping secrets held within.

"
STILL THE NIGHT

Still the night that ever stays,
Closing tight the door.
Search the corners of the room,
Knowing what's in store.

Keep the secrets held within,
Hid behind the lies.
Each tomorrow will reveal,
Every chosen prize.

Lead the way to unseen plains,
Hone the powers obscure.
Disregard each judgement call...
Helpless to endure.

“Still the night that ever stays,

Sharon, your lovely poem is so relatable to me. Hiding alone amid secrets and lies of the past is a prison of our own making. The walls close in more and more every day, suffocating us. I know this personally. Your evocative, beautifully laid and rhymed verses express this feeling perfectly. Very meaningful write.

Well rhymed and well reasoned. We all have secrets, some of which may need to be revealed, others better left unspoken. Learning to differentiate them can protect from oceans of pain later on.

Such smooth words telling tales, I think of yesterday.

Thanks ever so much for your kind remarks! ~Sharon
Your poem is one of suffering in silence. But endurance is a virtue too often maligned. "But the one who endures to the end will be saved."
Matthew 24:13, Matthew 10:22 and Mark 13:13. When Jesus says something, I take it to heart. When He says something three times, I take that as marching orders. I have a Friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 and that is my cleft to which I run; the Rock of Ages. He knows all my secrets and my every wound. And to Him, I cannot lie. But there is balm in Gilead and solace to all in the cross. My apologies if my review sounds more like a sermon but it is Sunday here. Wishing you the peace which passes all understanding. (Philippians 4:7) and guards the heart and mind. Blessings of peace, kindness, love and light to you, my friend.

Secrets held within, not seeing the light of day. I felt a burden here Sharon of stuff that can't be shared. The darkness was palpable. You write with much feeling dear poet.
