NO VISIBLE SYMPTOMS

NO VISIBLE SYMPTOMS

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Quote from Healthy Place dealing with depression.

"
NO VISIBLE SYMPTOMS

No visible symptoms,
No runny nose, just a head full
Of darkness. No fever or rash,
No fractures or sprains,
Just a longing for something
Unable to explain.

Depression dear Sharon is a curse which holds many in its net. It is a truly awful place to be where dark emotions replace every pin prick of light. It is the invisible illness to many while its sufferers tend to suffer in silence. Thank you for remembering those people.

Have known a fair few that have suffered and it is painful to watch and difficult to understand their suffering. Would be good if it came with warts and boils!

As someone who knows and is, I find this so touching and real. Having said that I echo Stephen Fry. Heightened self-consciousness, apartness, an inability to join in, physical shame and self-loathing—they are not all bad. Those devils have been my angels. Without them I would never have disappeared into language, literature, the mind, Art, laughter and all the mad intensities that made and unmade me.”

Depression is the abyss searching for a glimmer of light. An excellent quote. So true Miss Sharon. You should be a psychologist.

Depression is such a terrible thing... So many people suffer from this...and pretty much no one I know doesn't have someone in their family or close friends that has not been affected..
