LET THERE BE...

LET THERE BE...

A Poem by Miss Sharon

LET THERE BE

Let there be peace with words at play
And rue the blight of somber days
Where suns forget to shine.
Let there be laughter through the stay
Of evening stars on clouds of clay
To mend the heart which pines.
~~~~~~
Let there be music in the air
And dancing fairies everywhere
With silken flutter wings.
Let there be children who will share
Stories and heartstrings without care
Which prompts the world to sing.
~~~~~~
Let there be moon glow for each eye
And baseball sounds...some apple pie,
The summer days to fill.
Let there be kindness, truth...not lies,
For quickly every hour flies:
Then breath of life is stilled.
~~~~~~
Gather ye rosebuds while ye may! Yes, let there be all these wonderful happenings in our lives and let us stop to drink them in...and remember them when the days are not so sunny. Time does move all too quickly, no doubt about it. So lovely, Sharon. Lydi**
Miss Sharon ... When I read the title of this poem, all I could imagine was "Let it Be", one of my favorite songs. Your words flow with kindness and beauty. Congratulations and thanks for sharing this! 'lil dot...
What a lovely review my dear! Thanks ever so much. ~Sharon
You speak well about peace, laughter, dancing., sharing stories,..." let their be kindness and truth", words that shock the soul... so that life is not a battleground for lies..... . this poem is more than what's on paper; a very thought-provoking one that can go very deep. Thanks for sharing!
Best, B
You're most welcome.
Sharon,
This is one of the best of your poems I have read. The structure and rhymes are very well-done, and the imagery and message are powerful. You vividly describe iconic images that make summer and autumn special, that we all treasure in our memories. Then you bring us to a stop with the warning not to allow these wonderful times and experiences to be corrupted or taken for granted. It is a lovely poem, both celebratory and cautionary. Thank you,
Richard
This is my prayer, too. Of course, poets can be pretty somber ourselves. Maybe I need to throw a few funny and/or silly words into my work
Thank you so much for your kind review! You are appreciated. ~Sharon
Many times I admire from a distance the worlds which poets create... rarely does my heart yearn to live within it. Yet you've created that joyous and wondrous of a world.
dearest Sharon… all the Dreams of Children who play Baseball in an open Field will steal a Base and laughter will be the Catch of the Day. As American as Apple Pie. tenderly, Pat
