Undone

Undone

A Poem by Nathan Weaver
"

Some lyrics for an acoustic piece that consider the theme of 'leaving things undone.'

"

Undone
[acoustic]

[vs. 1]
There are many things
In this world
That we do not
Seem to understand

We live our lives
In constant confusion
Wondering just when
We'll have answers from The Man

[vs. 2]
An angry mother
Does beat her daugheter
Leaving with her
A host of scars

The child grows up
And the mother dies
And her daughter wonders
What the answers are

[vs. 3]
An elderly couple
Are gunned down sleepin'
By two teens
Looking for a thrill

In prison sittin'
The boys don't speak
And the family wonders
Why'd they have to kill

[vs. 4]
A husband takes a woman
And they fool around
A marriage lost
To the flames of lust

The wife is hurt
The damage is done
He's gone for good
In comes her mistrust

[final verse]
I often wonder
At the end of my life
Will I find things
That I have left undone

I pray instead
That I am satisfied
All in all
With the course I'd run

I loved it. You are excellent with poetry, and I do want to see more. It holds your theme, but short and sweet... or not so sweet. Of course I saw acoustic and the daughter and thought, "Oh dear. Nathan's acting odd." Then I saw the society and you, and knew everything was all right. You truly are the modern Shakespeare.

Yeah I like this one too. We may never know the answers to why we act the way that we do, and maybe there are none. I would love to hear the music that goes with this one too. Great job, I didn't know that you were so poetic....

Good flow and I could easily see the acoustic playing in the background, (and that has nothing to do with that I'm currently listening to an acoustic song!) I liked this.
