.
.
God, you make it all stand still -
.
Everything stops when you happen around.
.
.
The leaves halt in their fall and
.
The breeze,
.
Freezes in its coursing through it all.
.
.
How do you do that?
.
.
How do you cut to the quick
.
As if it'd been upon the surface for near the entirety of its time -
.
As if it were it that had been lacking the incentive, the wherewithal
.
To tunnel towards the callous and break into the luminescence of your shine.
.
.
You know more about me than I have words to say.
.
.
And somehow, in your notice of them,
.
You can make time stand still
.
And the tragic turning of this place
.
Soundlessly, go away.
.
.
You can lift the hairs from the skin across my arm.
.
You can pull salt-water from the corners of my eyes.
.
.
How do you do that?
.
.
How do you thaw the thing
.
That I so desperately encase in stone?
.
.
And I feel a fool to feel it -
.
But still, that leaking thing,
.
In me,
.
Would cherish the chance to know.
.
.
