When I Dream

When I Dream

A Poem by Orahemae December

When I dream, I dream of you
Holding me ever so close

As each day goes by my feelings are repressed
One day they won’t even show

When I sleep I listen to songs
They remind me of what we had

Every day I think of you and ponder
Ponder what went bad

How on earth am I suppose to move on
Forgetting the moments we shared

Going on laughing with out you
To me it doesn’t seem fair

Why must I go through this pain everyday
Hiding feelings I’ve always felt

Lying in bed with my sleepless nights tears
Crying for the card been dealt

How I feel inside’s a mystery
No one really knows

When I dream, I’ll still dream of you
Holding me ever so close

Great expression of love and love loss. Like the way the title is summed up in the ending lines. Thanks for entering the Missing Him, Missing Her contest.

Beautiful poem. The tone works brilliantly with the subject matter to create the feeling of saddened nostalgia. You did very well creating said atmosphere in the poem. The lack of punctuation is interesting, giving the poem the feeling of ideas running together in one great surge of emotion and memory and reaction. Very well done!
