A Proverb in Jonah's Psalm

A Proverb in Jonah's Psalm

A Poem by Philip S.

But as for me, I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation and deliverance belong to the Lord! (Jonah 2:9 AMP)

No more, will I cry
"God, Oh God! - Why?"
My thoughts, you do try

Of each weighed in hand, one upright and just
In you Lord I hope, In you Christ I trust
Keep hold of my heart, I pray! Lord Jesus

My heart if held, by mine alone
A statue's palm, only dust I atone
Iniquitous ash! High-handed stone!

From within came the darkness-tide
Steeped in totter, my alliance aside
Revealed - my black err divide

Not in revel, nay - of Love:
A hart chastened, by mercy's dove
on river-bend, from heaven above

(One's Reminded mission:
Give Grace, under submission
No matter one's position.)

God is Good.
