CHARACTERS
The Writer: an author attempting to compose a piece of writing honoring God.
God (O.S.): the great I AM, God, Jesus Christ

SETTING
A secluded place, perhaps under a tree, a park bench, a lonesome cafe table... It is open to choose for yourself.

SCENE

(SITTING DOWN SOMEWHERE IN THE WRITERS POSITION, THE WRITER HAS HIS MISSION SET BEFORE HIM. AS SOON AS HE BEGINS, HIS THOUGHT INTERRUPTS HIS TASK AT HAND)

Writer: How do you honor the creator of honoring?

God: By that which He gives you; to honor Him with.

Writer: What is it Lord? What is it that you have given me?

God: That which is already given from your heart.

Writer: Come again?

God: Through seeking the do, you have already done!

Writer: But, I haven't even begun my poem...

God: Look and see what has come about!

Writer: Well that's not what I intended to do - I wanted structure and class!
Words that profound!

God: Is most of your life everyday living, routinely so?

Writer: And my life I love Lord God, I thank you for it.

God: Keep writing each day, and leave the penmanship to me...

[A LONG PAUSE]

God: Still seeking the profound?
I am the profound you'll see... And by Me, you will be!

Writer: But am I not then honoring myself?

God: What is it you seek? Wondrous words? Or the Word of God?

Writer: Can I not have both?

God: Dear child listen! Let go of your words, seek mine!

Writer: How do I do that?

God: Honor The Lord with your words that come from the heart...
By those which I give to you.

Writer: So words from heart...

God: That I made and make...

Writer: ...and words from my pen?

God: From your heart...

Writer: Sounds kind of like, "I am the beginning and end..."

God: Write with all your heart mind soul and strength!

Writer: I think I see Lord...

God: Write for one another, as you would write for yourself.

[STRUGGLE]

Writer: Oh God I give up! There's no way I can do all this...

with my writing...

...

(Smiling and bright, as if all burden was lifted)
Writer: Here Lord. Take my pen.

[SPOKEN WITH LOVING APPROVAL]

God: That's all I ever wanted, my dear child.
