A Trial of Faith

A Trial of Faith

A Poem by Philip S.

Lord God - what am I to write?
A question that received, it's right.
This, in and of itself, is what
You have deemed so true. Yes, but
I, and I know others, struggle still,
Live in anguish; our forgotten hill,
conquered, was won, is won
And where's our monument, gone?
My flesh has no taste, no manners
Like salted pork - a meal to nurse
For what do I, or we, strive to do
If all seems naught, not waiting on you?
Oh that step! Our doosy!
It shatters faith, sometimes woosy..
Graceful wisdom, Denied by mine
Our hurting heart's, blind eyes do dine
On only that which you give
I pray grace, to eat and live

And for frosted feet - faith!
