Silence

Silence

A Poem by The Maverick
"

When one does not understand a language, all words are sounds. When one does, its stirrs one.

"

I listen to my silence, and then I hear sounds.

Different sounds. The sounds I know become words.
Those interrupt my silence, stir my emotions.

My silence is broken, thoughts rush forth like a thousand stampeding elephants.
My silence withdraws. My journey stops. I'm static, going a hundred places and not being anywhere.

I wander into a hundred places meeting faces, people,
Telling them a million things I wanted to. Doing those things I longed to.

My pulse jumps, I withdraw into my silence,
My pulse stops croaking,
My breath calms down like still waters,
A silent sea deep, untouched, unknown, unexplored.
Alone but not lonely. No need, no want, no wish. Fulfilled....

Let's remain here a little longer.
Charge myself to deal with my act on stage.
A husband, a son, a brother, a friend, a relative,
A boss, a leader, a peer, a subordinate, a professional, a father.

It's wonderful. Ten minutes of silence is enough charge for the rest of the day.

Silence wins! See you tomorrow……. at Silence.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Silence is to meditate to be deaf, dumb and blind.

What would it mean to say "A silent heart. A still mind."
