Said no.

Hid my tears.

Gone alone.

Walked away.

Stopped talking.

Hugged you.

Told you I loved you.

Listened.

Forgave You.

Cried in your arms.

Said yes.

How is it possible for you to sum up the story of our lives in such a short and simple poem...? "Walked away". Every single day (even now I'm kicking myself)...

Short? Yes. To the point? Let's say this... A master smith in Japan folding the steel of a katana ten thousand times, curving the blade just perfectly, and sharpening it to the point it could cut the fabric of the Universe Herself could not have made a finer point than this poem.

this is so powerful. it means so much to me where I am at in my life. I wonder if all the things that I've wanted others to do, I should have been doing myself and maybe I wasn't. this is very profound and I DO like the shorter poems a lot.

Amen. Anyone with a human heart knows exactly what you're talking about and can empathize to a degree. I can more than I'd like. Sometimes the really short poems like this are really enjoyable - as they are in the case of this one. Do me one favor, though. Scrap the i in explanatory. :P
