Hallucinatory Prayers

Fallen upon knees mid ashes of pipe dreamer’s infatuation

chimera's collective stardust reigning through macrocosms,

world spins counterclockwise in unrealistically bound hiatus

of stained glass mirrors fractures in rhetorical opposition,

earthly beings condensed to mere commonplace residue of

threadbare allegiances written on worn out constitutions,

idly spinning cogwheels from premier breath to closer exhaling

angels harking intensely attempting to assuage inevitability

whilst calm winds yield to maelstroms' imitative gesticulations

forfeitures of human activity sacrificed in sins' germinal vices

banal platitudes reinforcing an elusively unoriginal existence,

submissive believers amidst phalanx of religious zealots mid force

every prayer uniquely designated to an unequaled one true entity

dancing 'round fire tween inquisitions reluctant commendations'

preparedness on conventional suspension of ill-advised reiterations,

awaiting surrender 'neath incoherent vigil's unorthodox rite of passage

as incarnate spirit's disconnected chanting devolves midst consequential rationale - -

accordingly, timelessness is but a variable symbol factored in mankind's gradient hallucinatory prayers

permeated with humanistic thought and vivid, colorful imaginings ..what stands out most for me is that "prayer", by definition, requires Faith .. in something intangible .. without it, fallacy and illegitimacy are easily attached to "prayer" ... your title is exceptional ..ignites instant thought .. and the roll of thoughts, colors, images, philosophy and (some kind of) drugs ..is really quite seamless for me ..LSD comes to mind (in a flash) ;))... i think your poem is a great discussion opener for all!

Indicative of its title, the Words swim in a LSD pool of everythingness.

oh, I thought the world spinning counter-clockwise is normal.....:)
The problem with some hallucinatory prayers is that they may sometimes get answered...

Great poetry...

Paloma,
You have stated what you understand of prayer in the time-line presently of life. Observant and questioning is your motivation and I know that you will continue to grow. I hope that life is good for you and satisfying as well. Blessings as you continue in writing Kathy

Really, really, really enjoyed reading this work. The words flow together very well. A fine-tuned mantra, if you will. Hallucinatory Prayers -- I love the titling of this piece. Fine writing here. :)

prayers are hallucinations of the illusion of god(s) that earthly beings have given rise too... Paloma you weave some interesting thoughts here and I wander through them thinking we were once original beings, with an existence that had no gods, just curiousity and our determination to know why... seems like we surely have fallen very far in losing this to faith and prayers... ever wonder where we would be if Hypatia had not been stoned to death by religious zealots?? or had Galleo had not capitulated to the Inquisition???

give me the real world (even as ugly as it is) over hallucinations any time... some of the things I thought as I wove the threads of your well crafted poem... "goobledygook"??? hardly, not even for a nanosecond...

A use of words that falls like water. A flow of writing. Each line seems to take the mind along a myriad of thoughts.

Magically spiritual words, Paloma. "Submissive believers"....too often that is the case with religion if you ask me. No one questions. Blind faith is not always a good thing. The images of dancing round the fire bring to mind Wiccan ways. What are prayers if not dreams filled with hallucinations? Your words are dreamy, Paloma. Lydi**

Sigh....This just falls off the tongue and flies away and takes my imagination along with it in its adventure.
Love how we begin as mere residue and devolve from there, to become seven billion different kinds of the same, each with their unique and universal prayer. Love it.

Whoa! Your words thrilled me... Such a thought provoking write with so many descriptive words along with a vast concept... The title is itself something very catchy...

Sincerely
Dhiman
