Could Have, Would Have

Could Have, Would Have

A Poem by mysticgmekeepr

I could have strolled
Down a midnight street,
Cement songs vibrating in our feet:
The tales of walkers,
Drumming out their beat,
Against our steps.

I could have, with
Your fingers intwined in mine
Making the moon smile at our stories,
The street lights winking
At the free flowing river of our speech.

Stories: similar and joining on the corners.
Life collections of tears,
The ink and paper of the laughter
Of our years.
Yes, I could have strolled
Hand in hand
With the street lights blinking,
Sharing, thinking.

Rooted in kinships land
Holding a mystery hand
Strolling, rolling, lives unfolding
