A Story by Kathryn Smith

Tired

but I don't want to sleep

I wish you were here

For I am

A new woman

Who escaped

From her ghost

Who changed

For the better

Who still

Wishes to love

Lips rich

Skin soft

Body aching

Mind bright

Heart pure

I have risen up

and if you knew

how much

I loved you

We could live and die

In

Happiness

and contentment

I want you

To be mine

You manage to convey a sense of excitement, almost manic in its gushing, romantic outpourings, despite the absence of your beau and there is also some doubt he is aware at all of your passion? Perhaps unrequited love or even infatuation? A flowing easy to read piece.

You had me at 'wish you were here' !
Like Pia this got an Awhh out of me with its loving strains.
Who could resist such passionate sincere overtures - only a heart of stone.
Good to see you back Kat, with a beautiful poem.
