Heart as a Rose

Heart as a Rose

A Poem by Partha

In the month of Feb, on that day

With a stem of rose in my hand

I went to you and I did convey

“As a gift from me will you seed this plant?”

With deep disdain in your eyes

You threw my gift to the puddle of clay

Like a fallen angel in disguise

You ripped my heart in a violent way.

I questioned God in my loudest tone

The answer came after some days

The neglected stem somehow has grown

Maybe by blessed with heaven’s rays.

One month went since I was killed

Then one day I saw you there

Looking at the plant’s final yield

In your hazel eyes I saw despair.

With delicate drops of morning dew

Against all hopes a rose did bud

My tears they were I wish you knew

And the dark red rose, it was my blood.

This is very intriguing and personal piece of writing..
February is infact a very romantic month..I mean coz of Valentines day and thus it's somehow very special.

This is beautifully sad and very heartwrenching...But indeed a great piece of writing..Awesome!

Very beautiful. The last stanza was my favorite. I love the way you tied roses, tears, blood, and the month of February togther. Very effective. Great job.

Ouch! It hurts and that too very bad. A terrific write dear and very personal.
Quite lacking in grammar though! But very beautiful and sad again. So a nice combination.

(wanna give a special thanks to Bhavya for giving me it's read request)

I agree with the reviewer before me in that this is a very intriguing piece. The last stanza just tears at the heartstrings. Nice write.
