Innocents

Innocents

A Poem by AiH
"

may be found triggering to those who suffer from specific mental illness, just a form of expression for me

"
Remember the days when music was medicine
NIghts full of stories
and days of play pretend?

When root beer was our alcohol
when tic tacs were our pills
before those times of self despair
and alcoholic spills

When cutting was on paper
and not upon our wrists
when our journeys weren't poisoned
and chocolates were a kiss

....The days, the days
the simple days
the sunshine with her simple rays...

It's very passionate. Dark, but passionate. I can completely understand where you're coming from. Sometimes difficult times bring about beautiful poetry-I love the line "when our journeys weren't poisoned."

Oh the simple days...
Great material.
