Take Me!A Poem by John Alexander McFadyenOur love is the deepest!Take
Me! Take me to your breast for there is nothing for us in this pretence, in this bow and courtesy dance, where we gaze at fluttered eyelids, long for lifted petticoats but talk in half-truths, veiled in the metaphors of what-ifs and wherefores. We write verse but we are poetry. We are romance writ large on the moon, we have the blessing of angels, of Aphrodite and
of Venus. We cannot sow this upon barren soil. We cannot quell such swollen seas, other than in a bed of yearned for corporeal bliss.
