The Sands of Our Time-A Lesson in War

The Sands of Our Time-A Lesson in War

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

We will not capitulate!

"

The Sands of Our Time-A Lesson in War

The lone wolf

keeps taking

the flock.

Picking off

the weakest

most exposed

among us.

But the wolf pack

has no stomach

for a real battle

as it fears annihilation.

The winning of war

has little to do with

brutality,

and more to do

with who can suffer

most.

And as we become sensitised,

to this worldwide wave of

senseless atrocities,

we the people,

of every faith and creed,

defy your bigoted lies

and know that as

we can no longer

enjoy our freedom,

our basic human rights

in their entirety,

we must suffer,

and we will endure,

because not one of us

will capitulate

to your black-hearted,

despotic

poison.

In a way, it's a new war. Doesn't even have to a terrorist. Just someone who's pissed off.
Propaganda is the new airwaves.
Weak Governments certainly don't help matters.

I agree and perhaps by being inactive our governments are complicit. Many thanks Paul.
oooooooooo cuts to the quick my friend .. eeeeyouch! universal truths well knit into this fast paced social commentary ... no more than that ...the real battle between good and evil is laid bare for the reader to wrestle out honest answers ... just when i thought i had my head together ;{
well done John! :) all lone wolves are impossible to stop but as we do want to keep the freedoms we still have we do need to join together ...and report what we see and hear ...those things that are not quite right ...political correctness has taken away our courage by making us afraid ... and vulnerable ... how we need common sense and balance :}

Indeed dear 'E' you have encapsulated the sentiment so precisely. Many thank yours!
when a surgeon cuts into a cancer it often spells the end for patients as the very act of trying to remove the tumor cause its spread to a degree.
The cancer has spread and we now need to factor in that as a species we may have serious side effects in the quest to eradicate it.

Thank for the RR John

Gee
And so it goes on, one lunatic another scene of death and devastation. Thing is we are becoming less shocked with each passing act of cowardice, the usual words of condemnation are trotted out, the memory for most fades until the next one.
Many feel as you do John but few have the skills to express their frustration.

Eloquent, Relevant and impassioned write. Your poetic rant about the cowardice and/ or insanity of “lone wolves” surfacing everywhere now terrorizing, murdering innocents, really hits home. “We will endure.”- yes, we must.
