As Stars Collide
A Poem by
John Alexander McFadyen
When wandering souls meet.
I wrote you
in a
heartbeat.
You stared
across space
and time
frozen
for that
instant
in love's
aspic glance.
I felt you
push your
way
inside
my ribs
as I gasped
for air.
You bled my
heart
and filled
my pen
with wistful
words
that dripped
in warm
droplets
upon virgin
sheets.
We strayed,
we stayed,
and innocence
was put to
the sword;
a little death
worth dying
for.
As we lay
in the glow
just after,
wrapped in the
warm
womb of
contentment,
we breathed
the sweet
air
of satisfaction
into one
another's
hearts.

I so loved this song, haven't heard it in such a long time. It marries nicely with your verses, dear John. Beautifully felt!

Thank you so much Kelly. Not seen much from you lately? That song is in my personal top fifty!
Loved the spare delivery and the imagery in this one. Verse 5 is most interesting. Does it indicate a reunion or a forbidden love? I think the last two verses tell us it doesn't matter.

Many thanks JTB. I guess like many writers I am happy for the reader to fill in any gaps lol!

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools..
