Paper Words

Poets inspire, poets feel and anticipate and delve deep into themselves and their desires.

An open book of possibilities

as each line unfolds,

as words spill

in tender kisses

across an old page

 of scrawls.

Warm, smooth chocolate

feelings begin to bubble

in anticipation

as butterflies cavort

and dance

in the sweetness of

the ocean breeze.

Soft wanton desire

rises like steam

from hot springs,

dangerous,

but deliriously

welcome.

Each word etched

it seems

upon a single tear

as it falls from the sky

and forms a puddle

of meaning,

of suggestion,

of promises

to come.

I've been at the cafe about six years & most of that time, I've proclaimed to hate romantic poems, love poems, & pining or breakup poems. I've only just recently been swayed by a few romantic love or pining poems, so maybe there's a teensy bit of an inkling in there somewhere!
