Walking Bailey

Walking Bailey

A Poem by Dara
"

I am reposting this in memory of my Bailey who passed away this month.

"

A sunny day, a gentle breeze

as we pass by the giant oak trees

my lab and I stroll side by side

no need to hurry we take our time.

She sniffs the grass and rolls around

I glance her way then up she bounds.

The silence is golden we hear not a word

and I  hum to myself to a chorus of birds.

These moments with Bailey

 I’ll remember forever.

She’s my constant companion,

a friendship to treasure.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. This is a beautiful poem by way of tribute to your Bailey. So difficult to lose beloved pets. I think I will just go and cuddle my Solo, to remind me we don't have them forever. Take care Dara.

Have two dogs and dread the future.. but.. yes, every memory made is like treasure, isn't it!

You and your Bailey obviously had such a wonderfully warm friendship. Your words are so charmingly put, each phrase a memory of its own... and yes, there is peace there.. and more.

Lovely poem: gave me a mix of smiles and tears, but, will concentrate on the former, Dara, because you have x

This is a heartfelt tribute to your hunny-dog that really lets the reader feel your fondness & how your outings together felt. I love your easy comfortable rhyme & rhythm which enhance the easygoing style of how you wrote this. It doesn't feel like a sad poem of departure, but as if you've brought your dog back to lively life for us! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
