Once upon a mystery

Once upon a mystery

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

A man of depth and philosophy

"
A breeze of Aristotle, he held me with
tender green eyes and virtuous resolve...
The blossoms of ancient trees bathed our love
in endless rhapsody...

Ancient Egyptian birds flew in billowing
clouds of desire to tops of pyramids and beyond
in tempestuous and restless visions
of endless fantasy...

What a wonderful sensual fantasy this is, Pat! "Billowing clouds of desire"...love the concept of that line. The references to ancient Greece and Egypt are wonderful. I enjoyed this one. Falling in love with the intelligence of a person is just as important as being attracted for physical reasons. Lydi**

This has everything a reader needs from words: a gentle flow, -respectful of its content; a hint of other-ness - experience - a knowledge of what's been influencing the now. And, most of all, aweareness of the cerebral being stronger and more lasting than the physical. Perhaps. (My words are so long-winded, sorry, was thinking as I typed)

I n other words, Pat., you've covered so many aspect of Love.. and love... and how you view it!

Love is beyond physical attraction. A person's intellect can grip your fancy as well.
The reference to Greece and Egypt gives the poem an exotic flavour.
Indeed a very sensational poem.
