Violets of stolen moments

Violets of stolen moments

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

The sun rises and smiles on the
bosoms of mountains...
as the rivers flow with currents of
natures provocative libations...

Breezes sway with lullabies and
memories of lovers breath in
soft sounds of merriment...
Sweet violets of stolen secrets and
flights of butterfly dreams...

Many days of rain have brought
a sense of movement in sleeping
buds of possibility...
Birds in painted vanity appear
as though the opera of a lost paradise has
suddenly discovered sunshine and laughter...

This makes me think of those violet fields of Provence that served as the backdrop for some of Van Gogh's latter years.

"Bosoms of mountains".....such an alluring description. As always, your description of the senescent scene is lush and visual. Surely someday the floral world will bow at your feet for all these dedications to their beauty.

Another beautiful write, Pat.

what a beautiful way to describe a garden of flowers and life's moments. The magic is the space between. Brava.

I love the way you equate the 'provocative libations' of Spring with lovers 'sweet violets of stolen secrets'. Both have 'buds of possibilities'. Synonymous for both. And I love the ending. Here in England the opera of Spring has begun, but like you we have snow! Roll on the sunshine an laughter!

Thanks to your beautiful anthem, Patricia, can almost smell the scent of violets in my room! Isn't it wonderful to see and feel the daintiness of Spring flowers slowly taking over the dreariness of Winter?! . Must add that the warmth of your words balance out the fact that overnight we've had almost six inches of snow and- moe to come. It looks beautiful tho.

Just read your poem again: You have that magical eye and touch when wriging about the Outdoors, thank you so very much for sharing. xx

Word on word seems like brush stroked color coming to life. I love finding myself outside in the glorious air, with a world like this coming alive all around me. Beautifully painted.
