Wayward Wind

Wayward Wind

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

A horse named Wayward Wind

"
Her path led her to the Stable where she spoke

in a whisper to her best friend whom she

rode through Valleys green... where apple

orchards afforded a quiet place to rest and

nibble on apples sweet...

In Celebration of a Poet blessed with

the softness of the morning sun and the

spirit of a hummingbird with colors of

a rainbow after an orchestrated thunderstorm...

with the purest sounds of violins...

I dedicate his poem to Emmajoy who celebrates her birth

on June 22 in a year of discovery of future poetic

and romantic sonnets of the water falls and green

pastures scattered with wildflowers...

This is a lovely tribute to one of the loveliest people I know. Sometimes outward beauty disguises what's inside, but Our dear Emma proves that to not always be the case.

What a beautiful, moving song of life and wonder that sings through your words. And a glorious dedication to Emmajoy. She has been here over ten years, lifting so many who have found her. As do you, dear poet.

A wonderful gift for a wonderful
poet's Birthday. So how is that River doing down by the Kenmore Inn these days? I use to be a ghost of the summer nights in that brick outdoor restaurant downstairs just scribbling away my thick struggling words and buying up the art work that the river induced before walking down to watch the fishermen work and drink...wonderful area. Thanks for the soft read and tribute~

I am so glad you RR'ed me, as it would've been a bummer to miss this amazing tribute to one of my favorite poets at the cafe! Everyone's favorite! You have given this poem the essence of the fluttering Emmajoy softness, yet it's also fully your own voice, as you observe nature in bold strokes. There's something about the handle "Emmajoy" that resonates with "hummingbird" -- plus the fluttering strokes of her watercolor words -- I've always pictured a hummingbird when I think of her! That's why it's so perfectly central to your tribute! I love this (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
