The wandering breeze

Shutters secure and water in bottles with plenty of food

When September smiles and wild geese pause. 

there is a silent reverie of summer sadness... 

trips to the Ocean where waves play and 

seagulls fly in patterns of imagination against 

the clouds of a predicted storm along the 

Bahamas and isles dotted with palms... 

The calm before the storm where shells lay 

along quiet beaches where lovers have kissed 

and promises were written in the sand and mist... 

We wait impatiently for Dorian to make Land fall...

What a beautiful way to memorialize the calm before the storm, in this case Hurricane Dorian. Dorian is such an unusual name, and all I could think about was Dorian Lord, a fictional character on the daytime soap opera, One Life To Live, that my mother used to watch when I was growing up. Like the storm, her character was a real mother. Then again, it could be like Dorian Gray, ugly to the core.

dear Linda Marie... I saw the old movie Dorian Gray...
I remember the soap opera One Life to Live... but never got addicted to it... to remember Dorian's name. My father created our own soap opera that we were forced to have "Parts". Wasn't it Shakespeare that said, "The whole world is a Stage and we are all Actors". Thanks Linda for stopping by. Dorian did so much damage in The Bahamas... and then on to South Carolina. I've never been in a hurricane-wracked area, so I'm not as enthralled with storm drama as some are. That's why I love how you've contrasted these peaceful remnants of summer against the agony of waiting, rather than focusing your poem on detailing the storm itself. dear Margie... As of today, September three, Dorian has done horrendous damage to the Bahamas... but miraculously has buxom today a Category two instead of four or five. It will not have landfall in Florida as predicted for today Tuesday, however it could cause
wind damage in Jacksonville, Florida, and further along the Coast of North and South Carolin, as well as Georgia. Mother Nature can be devastating. Thank goodness our poet in Florida is safe and things are much more hopeful for Florida. I am glad you noticed the softness of my poetry, as we need to remember how sweet and charming it could be when the weather permitted the beauty to be exposed on a sunny day of soft breezes and salty kisses. truly, Pat
