Neville the Kookaburra Bird

Neville the Kookaburra Bird

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

The serious eyes of a Bird with courage...

"
He sits on a branch and observes his world

where Koala Bears are growing extinct...

They have been his closest friends through

thick and thin... in fowl wild weather and

sunshine blue sky days with smiles...

He wonders why there needs to be Love

when the prospect of living is dismal.

But hope is free for the asking and therefor

he will continue waiting for a Valentine Quill

to pen him a Love Song by Neil Diamond...

Song Sung Blue... Weeping like a Willow

Song Sung Blue... Sleeping on my Pillow...

A poem by Poet Pat Wedel...

dedicated to Poet Neville...

Aw gawsh me lovely... what can a geezer say.. blushing from top to toe.. just got mistaken for a post box by the side of the road... rushed back to tell ya about it but got stopped on the way and someone wanted to use me to ring home..... must have got me confused with a telephone box.. Bloomin glad they never tried to hop on board and ask to get off at the next stop...… See, that's how much ya made me blush.... Many thank yous dear Pat.... from one big smiling geezer.. Me. :)

Thank you Cherrie... it was fun to surprise Neville. truly, Pat
Love Neil Diamond Pat. Love Neville's poetry and I can see already that Neville is delighted with these lines you have penned for him. I know he is a great observer and admirer of our feathered friends as you are too. A special delight to read this poem, written by a favourite poet for another favourite poet.

I am sure Neville had a huge smile on his face when he read this one, Pat. Song sung blue....one of the best Neil Diamond songs. When days are dark, fires ruin the landscape and take the lives of beautiful creatures, things seem bleak. Still there is love....always love. Always enjoy your poetry, Pat. Lydi**
