Wouldn't you dance for love

Wouldn't you dance for love

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Robins hop across our lawn like moonstruck lovers...

"

Robins are always welcome in our yard as

they look for earthworms and fallen berries...

Singing a song of hard times and and a place to dine

They love fruits and berries, and sweet cakes...

even pastry dough that Mom has rolled with leftovers

Their happy attitudes are contagious and sweet...

as they find a mate to build a nest of twigs and string

Robins are gregarious birds and often dance two by two...

Wouldn't You.

I adore Robins. We have them nesting in our garden at the moment Pat. So busy collecting juicy grubs to feed their young. Their nest is hidden in the ivy trailing over a boundary fence. I enjoyed your lines so much. Beautiful imagery, particularly of those pastry pieces being left for the robins by thoughtful mom after her baking was complete. Plenty of nostalgia in this write. I thought of my own Nan and her love of birds. I just love the joy that these little creatures share with us. These little creatures can lift your spirits on a dull day. I can picture your Robins dancing to Brahms. What a delight that is. Sending you and yours warm greetings from across the pond Pat. In these days of lockdown we are spending most of our time in our garden. Thank goodness for nature.

I'm sitting up now listening to the first birds of dawn twittering and chirping their songs. What would love or life be worth if we couldn't dance for pure joy once in awhile? Loved the write. F.

Fun, nostalgic and informative. Beautifully said with lively descriptions. How inspired we can from nature and how grateful for the Divine and creature. It takes two to tango and it takes willingness to make it go.
Enjoy spring and such...

this is so sweet, and yes, Robins are tough...first to come out to let us know spring is coming, sometimes it's still February and we see them brave the cold. Nothing like a little Brahms to warm the winged soul.
