Berried Treasures

Berried Treasures

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Berry-filled trees and shrubs

"
Hiking in the Spring on a mountain side is a

trapeze artist's dream when blue-winged warblers sing...

They croon a Frank Sinatra tune as females faint into

dreams of romantic fantasies and flights of utopia...

Tree Swallows love a Bluebird Box and raise a flock

of swallows to grace the Foxglove and honeysuckle vines...

Mountain streams afford a splashing good time for birds

and beasties that happen to invade the paradise found.

Breathing the fresh air can be healing after a

sequestered existence in the Valley below...

Oh yes, being out in the fresh air and breathing in the goodness is a wonderful feeling...especially when birds are singing Frank Sinatra tunes in the background! :) I liked the play on words...."berried" as opposed to "buried"....very clever. Another poem filled with nature's beauty, Pat. I liked it. Lydi**

Wonderful nature poem dear Pat. Outside in the fresh air hiking in the mountains. That would surely raise the spirits. So much wonderful imagery here, and I love the thought of your blue warblers crooning away to a Frank Sinatra song. Romantic indeed, as befits the season. Lots of nesting taking place at the moment. We have a very proud robin busy as busy feeding a tiny chick safe inside our ivy growing thick on a fence. So much to see outside at the moment. Take good care of you and yours Pat. All good wishes from across the pond.
