Peaches and Creme

dedicated to Ana Papaya... for her June Birthday

There are some Poets who fly like a Kite 

over Orchards of Peaches where Owls keep 

vigils at night when Stars sing birthday songs 

of lullabies where poets rhyme in time 

well spent gathering fruit that is sweet as 

honeysuckle wine as years entwine on the vine... 

Wishing our illustrious poet Ana the most delicious

Well, if I want a poem for my birthday, you're the one I'm going to ask! I usually don't think of rhyming poems the way you've done here, but I like it. It challenges the reader to keep going and enjoy the rhymes when they come rather than expecting them at the end of lines.

HI pat mine was this month too June second to be precise:) Im adopted and now know my birth mother of whom swears I was born on the 3rd but how would she know LOL (you have to love the government (or maybe it was a tired nun)

your poems always sing to me so gently Pat ... what a fine B-Day wish for Ana .. really enjoy flying over the orchard .. as an owl .. never would have put them together ... i love owls .. but i always think of them in the deep forest .. or old barns ;) flying over peaches is simply the cream on top .. love it!

dear E... after living in our home for just two years...
I happened to see during the early morning hours ....
a large gorgeous Owl sitting on the wide wooden railing of our Deck outside the large Kitchen Window. He looked directly towards me and seemed to feel very comfortable as a Scholar in a 'smoking jacket'
thinking great thoughts. I grabbed my Camera and took a photo of him. I Have not seen him again. However, he is always in my Mind's Eye. Thank you for your delicious review. I wonder if he was a she.

dearest Chris... so happy this gave you a lift... we need to keep our spirits up with so much going on... I was raised without dancing as our Church frowned on such things. As I became an Adult I went to a Methodist church where a beautiful middle-aged woman in a Long green dress with swirls danced quietly and beautifully up the Church Aisle while a young man played a Classical Guitar.
